Love

I am going to start a series of scripture refrences of Love. And give my outlook on it. And maybe put in some poetry, or commentary from other sources. I am not totally sure what yet.
But to start off The first scripture that mentions love is II Samuel 1:26 "I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant has thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women."
It is nice to know that we have family, and friends that truly love us. In my own experience with going to church, the main reason why I love the church I go to, New Testament Christian Churches of America is because the amount of love I received from the brothers and sisters. My own flesh and blood did not even show me that much love. So I can understand the statement that the love from Jonathan was more than anyone else in this case a women.
We all need to show love one towards another. I really dislike it when people even play around with the word hate. That is a very harsh word to use no matter how you use it.

You Decide

I decide for myself what I am going to do with my life. No one else. And what I have chosen is a holiness christian life.
You need to decide what you want to do with your life and let no one interfere.
So let us all decide on our own where we want to be.
Okay, where to begin, We as individuals decide where we want our life to end up at. We have all been guilty at one time or another of blaming others for things in our life. But it is not them it is us.
We are what we are becuase of us. No one told us that we had to live a certain way. We let ourselves get where we are whether good or bad.

Empty Victories

Well last night the New York Giants won the superbowl, and we had church. The first thing one of the pastors said was Aren't you glad you are on the real winning team. Then on the way home from church my husband brought this subject up, Empty Victories. And I got to wondering about that two word phrase.

Victory means a success or triumph over an enemy in battle or war,
The state of having triumphed.

So I guess you can say the New York Giants had a victory last night. But how long will that victory last. Sure they get the rings, and the trophy, but next year they will be at it again and the first time they lose the hype of winning will be gone. The NE Patriots for example had an undefeated winning and then the game that really mattered they lost, the fans and the team were probably really bummed out.

On to the fans of the New York Giants. There team won. But who was still happy Monday morning when they had to get up out of bed and go to work to face the boss man. Where is that victory feeling they all had. It is gone. And the older you get the less it really means to you for something like that to happen.

That is how it is with all of life. Victory only last for a short time, and then that joyous feeling you had is all gone.

The only true victory that someone can be joyous all the time, forever and ever is the victory over sin. Everyday is a new victory. Because we are waiting for the day for the ultimate victory when we go to heaven and live forever. It is the most greatest feeling when you know that you have been victorious, and no longer have to live the way you have to live.
